Letters to Emma Bowlcut

Listening: Diamond Dancer, Bill Callahan

“She was dancin’ so hard,
she danced herself into a diamond.
Dancin’ all by herself,
dancin’ all by herself,

and not mindin’.”
Thank you, Megan, for letting me know he’s written a book.  It is ordered and in the mail.

Bill Callahan is one of my great loves.  He falls under that small category of musicians who are writers.  Leonard, Joni, Patti, Joanna, too.  But Bill, my goodness, you write the scripture of my heart.  I cannot wait to open Letters to Emma Bowlcut.

For now, I’m just listening
“And the one thing on her mind was,
the one thing on her mind was,
‘It’s time I gave the world my life,
starting tonight’.”
